steel rebar is the backbone of every construction project. From urban infrastructure to bridges, from reinforced concrete to industrial structures, this vital product is needed everywhere. Iran, with an annual production of over thirty-five million tons of crude steel, is one of the largest rebar supply sources in the Middle East and Central Asia.
At Coolak International Group, we source and export all types of metal rebar, including deformed bar, plain bar, wire rod/coil, and wire rebar from reputable Iranian mills to customers worldwide. Our products are offered in grades A2, A3, and A4, compliant with ASTM A615, BS 4449, DIN 488, and ISO 6935 standards.
Types of Steel Rebar
Deformed Bar (Ribbed Bar)
This type features surface ribs designed to create better bonding with concrete. Its main application is in reinforced concrete structures, columns, beams, and slabs. Common diameters range from 10 to 40 mm, produced in lengths of 6, 9, or 12 meters.
Plain Bar (Round Bar)
Has a smooth, uniform surface and is mostly used in non-structural work, fencing, metal doors and windows, and conversion industries. Smaller diameters (5.5 to 12 mm) are most common.
Wire Rod / Coil
This product is supplied in large rings weighing 1.8 to 2.5 tons and can be unrolled. Its main applications include nail production, barbed wire, wire mesh, and industrial components. Diameters below 9 mm have the highest demand.
Wire Rebar
A thinner, more flexible type of rebar used in various industries including agriculture, packaging, and metal product manufacturing.

Safety and Standards
Iranian rebar manufacturers follow international quality and safety standards:
ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System
ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management
ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety
CE Marking – For European exports
Buyers can have their shipments inspected by independent companies before loading or at the destination port. Tests include tensile testing, dimensional verification, chemical analysis, and certificate of conformity issuance.
Logistics and Packaging
Rebar is supplied in two forms depending on type:
Bar Rebar
In 2 to 3-ton bundles securely strapped with steel bands and labeled. Each label includes grade, diameter, length, weight, batch number, and manufacturer name.
Coil Rebar
In large rings with an inner diameter of 760 mm, outer diameter of 1200 mm, and weight of 1.8 to 2.5 tons. These coils are bound with steel wire and ready for container or bulk vessel loading.

Supply Capacity and Target Markets
Iranian customs data shows that in just one tariff code (wire rod with diameter below 9 mm), exports from Bahman 1403 to Dey 1404 reached over USD 70 million. Peak export volumes were recorded in Tir and Aban 1404 at over USD 11 million each month. This figure represents only a small portion of Iran’s total rebar exports, which includes all diameters, grades, and types.
At Coolak, with our extensive supply network, we export 5,000 to 20,000 tons monthly of various metal rebar types. Our main markets include:
Middle East: Iraq, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman
Central Asia: Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan
Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, Mozambique
Southeast Asia: Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia
Origin and Sustainability
Our rebar is sourced from major Iranian mills, including Mobarakeh Steel (Isfahan), Khuzestan Steel, Esfahan Steel (Zob Ahan), Khorasan Steel, Hormozgan Steel, and reputable private rolling mills. These plants use domestic raw materials (iron ore from Gol-e-Gohar, Chadormalu, and Sangan mines) and affordable domestic energy (natural gas and electricity).
Iran’s steel industry has made significant efforts in recent years to reduce carbon emissions, recycle industrial water, and use recycled steel (scrap). Many producers hold ISO 14001 certification and participate in international corporate social responsibility programs.
